(ATLANTA :: 16 December 2009) For
someone who has been painting for friends and family
as a hobby for years, Greg Davis started off his first
exhibition last year with a bang... selling two
pieces.
“The Gloaming” was a mysterious and complex meditation on a marshy green abstract form; and “Autumn ’08” was a reminder of how vibrant the season change can be in the imagination.
This year, Greg offers up a trio of 10”x10” paintings, all oil-on-canvas, that are riffs on familiar abstractions. They are offered individually for $100 each, or as a trio for $275. They are:
• “Oia Sunset”
• “Violet Skies”
• “La Pacifica”
"I have always loved vivid color," he adds. "Most of my works involve the use and mixing of various colors to provide the viewer with a sense of action and excitement. Nature as viewed through the prism of abstraction is the inspiration for many of my works. I currently work with acrylics along with gesso and gels to bring depth to the pieces."
