Island life and dancing fools

Mary Pollock returns once again to ARTvision with “Nantucket Morning” and “Watch out for Those Spurs!

The Nantucket piece was done out on the Island’s easternmost town, Siasconset. “So nice to be out in the country painting,” she says. “It was a beautiful, perfect day for watercolors.”

The other piece is crafted on translucent acetate with a patterned mat to add weight and texture to the vibrant image. “I always had a lot of success with dancers for some reason,” she says. “I used to do lots of pen and ink of dancers that were used by a cosmetic company for promotions. I also love working on acetate - it is smooth and takes color, ink or pencil very well.”
