(ATLANTA :: 6 December 2010) For five years, it’s been my great pleasure to dig up treasure - to benefit folks who wouldn’t have had advocacy, funds or services otherwise. I’m deeply proud of our artists, who have joined together to raise nearly $15,000 in four years for charity. For the third consecutive year, we’re proud to have Positive Impact is our beneficiary.

And this year, I’m offering up “treasure” of a different kind - “Teal Treasure” is my first piece to be loaded to the AV website, and is offered for a donation of $4,000.

The image was taken at a retreat town just outside San Jose, Costa Rica, called
Tirol; it’s of a weathered door, and the scene struck me as an unbelievable chance to capture striking color and texture at the same time.

The frame - like many of our pieces, sourced and built by JD Issacs at Rose Squared Gallery in Decatur - is spectacular, and is of Italian origin. “Teal Treasure” was framed specifically for and on display at Skidmore College’s 2010 Alumni Reunion Art Show; the frame, chosen by JD and me, is built by Italian craftsmen and finished with layers of stains, gold leaf and applied patina. “A more perfect choice for this amazing work simply did not exist,” JD says.

Here’s a list of pieces I’ll offer this year (the links will become active once they’re loaded):

To view these and other pieces, please make sure to attend our NYE invitation-only preview gala on 30 December 2010. For ticket opportunities,
please e-mail Michael Baker of Positive Impact.

I’ll offer a few more pieces that will be loaded to the site in the coming days. Stay tuned!
