Sea Shells Create Lasting “Memories”

Choreographer and dancer extraordinaire Vibecke Dahle returns to ARTvision with “Memories,” a photograph output to canvas. The subject, Carmen, lived a very active life near water and had a strong reaction when shells were gifted to her that came from a beach she could no longer visit.

“The image for me shows a contrast of time,” Vibecke says. “Carmen’s older sister was picking shells for her from the beach because Carmen can't walk much anymore. Carmen treated them like a treasure and she got very quiet like she was going back in time reliving her youth when there were no limitations or restrictions.

“Carmen has a love for bird watching” Vibecke adds. “Her body is not as strong as before, but her flow of memories brightened up her eyes when she guarded these shells from a beach she only can see and no longer walk on.”

Memories,” a 12x18 deep canvas wrap with a black border, is being offered for $100 in ARTvision’s Extended December Sales Program - starting this weekend.
