Statement & from Will Pollock, Executive Director of ARTvision Atlanta

1 December 2015

Friends,

Every December 1st over the past nine years, I’ve officially opened the giving season through ARTvision on World AIDS Day... but a number of changes and challenges spurred me to press pause this year, on both ARTvision and the annual pizza party.

For seven of those nine years, we raised much-needed funds for Positive Impact (rebranded this year as
Positive Impact Health Centers). PI the pre-eminent agency of its kind, providing mental-health and substance-abuse services to those affected by HIV in the metro Atlanta area.

As the year draws to a close, please consider supporting Positive Impact and all of their critical services and staff.

After seven years of fundraising for PI, we made the touch decision to move to a new beneficiary. We’ll be starting our selection process early next year, and we should have a selection to announce in the spring of ’16. If you have a non-profit you’d like to nominate, please contact me directly.

I’ve also had some personal challenges that have hampered my ability to lead these events in a conscientious manner. My house has been under construction since April; and in July my house was robbed and I had a number of computers stolen. I
wrote a post about it here.

So, 2016 will be a new year and a fresh start. Hopefully for all of us. In the meantime, whether you’re an artist or not—
keep on creating. We still have a full month left in 2015 to make a difference.

Wishing all good things,

Will
