As the world brims with disparate, micro-universes of cultures, attitudes and identities, one thing is for sure: we all thrive when peace is present. From bullying and homophobia, to war, aggression, and discord, artists can use their creative voices to stand up and ask for a new paradigm.
ARTvision’s eighth season will do just that: “The Promise of Peace: Art Innovating Life” is a challenge to our artists to offer pieces that make a statement about the vision we hold for a more peaceful and prosperous planet.
The concept of peace can sometimes be seen as a static, non-active state that wafts over society without input from its people. When put in practice, though, peace is vigorous, compassionate, smart and - in the case of this year’s theme - a conscious choice that changes lives and opens eyes.
