ARTvision Artist: Will Pollock

(ATLANTA, Dec. 9.) — Born and raised on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, Will Pollock has worked as a journalist for more than 10 years. Will has contributed as both writer and photographer to a number of business and consumer publications, Web sites and national companies, including GMAC Real Estate, Sea Ray Living and Art & Antiques.

In his photography Will says color and composition are always driven by how each setting is illuminated.

“No matter how interesting your subject, photography boils down to a compelling capture of light,” he says. “My work is influenced by how light marks the sky, brightens a face or sets a scene. And the challenge always is how well that light adds depth and layers to a picture. When you can look at a photo and continually see new images, textures and themes, the light was right.”

Will completed his undergrad at Skidmore College in 1990 and received his Master’s of Science from The Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in December 2001. Will is a member of Kappa Tau Alpha, journalism’s National Honors Society, and is an avid tennis player.

Will would like to thank Paula and Rebecca at IGLHRC for their encouragement, and for helping us all remember Betsy in such a meaningful way.
