ARTvision-5 "XL: Style & Substance"

artists reaching through

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: ARTvision Live Set for 17 March 2011

“ARTvision Live: In Person & Out Loud” will commemorate the fifth anniversary of ARTvision - a local event that, every December, celebrates you... emerging and established artists who are as committed to philanthropic pursuits as you are sharing your creative talent. ARTvision was founded by Will Pollock in 2006 to honor his aunt, Betsy Weedon, who was a non-profit worker in the Bay Area for more than 40 years. (read more)

Over the past four years, ARTvision has featured more than 23 artists (many of them returning), showing 54 pieces - all of which made just under $15,000.

The spirit of ARTvision reflects my aunt’s spirit, where artists give 100% of their talent for the sole purpose of raising money for our beneficiary, Atlanta-based
Positive Impact. Positive Impact is one of the city and the nation's preeminent HIV-services agency, providing culturally competent mental-health services and testing to those affected by HIV.

More folks are living longer with HIV, and yet their lives are no less complex and challenging. Each $100 we raise helps Positive Impact provide 3 hours of mental-health counseling. The more than $7,500 raised last year through ARTvision alone translates to a great deal of support that the agency very much needs.
