ARTvision Artist: Adam Newman

(ATLANTA - 10 Dec. 2007) :: Adam comes to ARTvision by way of the Therapeutic Art Show, held at Parkside Office Suites.

Adam's sculpture is widely popular across the Southeast, and uses existing and found pieces to create contemporary art. His piece, entitled "Turtle Love," was made exclusively for ARTvision -- to honor our beneficiary, AIDS Survival Project.

An artist all his life, Adam sold his first drawing in high school and has been working with wood and metal for well over 15 years. In 2002, he decided to fulfill his dream of starting his business and naming it Newmanic Tribe. He has delved into many arts including drawing, painting, furniture, turned lathe objects, pond fountains and finally wire sculptures. The sculptures started out as dream catchers and slowly morphed into three-dimensional renditions of fish, dragonflies, birds, and any other creature that has been requested by clients.

Adam strives to create high end products while keeping his art affordable by using antique or found materials whenever possible. Garage sales, the beach, antique stores, craft stores and more are searched through for unusual materials. Custom work is Adam's greatest forte as every piece he creates is different - a true work of art and labor of love. Adam creates products to fit the needs of his customers while staying true to his own unique style.

Adam’s sculptures utilize all shapes and sizes of copper, other metals, glass, beads, stones, shells, wood and other high quality materials as accents to complete the finished product. Sculptures are created by wrapping wire in a half hitch knot around objects – many of which one would not expect to see as part of a fish or dragonfly.
