ARTvision Artist: Will Pollock

Atlanta, GA :: Born and raised on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, Will Pollock has worked as a journalist for more than 13 years. Will has contributed as both writer and photographer to a number of business and consumer publications, Web sites and national companies, Sea Ray Living, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Taste magazine, and Art & Antiques.

To describe his exhibition photography, Will uses a phrase that captures a duality of photographic storytelling… With two words that have both individual meaning and a symbiotic relationship. For ARTvision and for the recent Therapeutic Art Show, “imagine/understanding” reflects how use of imagination and creativity can help inspire greater future understanding – for ourselves, and for those around us.

In his photography Will says color and composition are always driven by how each setting is illuminated.

“No matter how interesting your subject, photography boils down to a compelling capture of light,” he says. “My work is influenced by how light marks the sky, brightens a face or sets a scene. And the challenge always is how well that light adds depth and layers to a picture. When you can look at a photo and continually see new images, textures and themes, the light was right.”

Will launched ARTvision in 2006 to honor his aunt,
Betsy Weedon, who was a noted philanthropist in San Francisco's Bay Area. Will would also like to offer great thanks to all ARTvision Artists for showing their work to benefit ASP!
