First-ever 'Quad Collaboration' with "Tis of Thee..."

(15 November 2011 :: Atlanta & Chicago) This is one of the coolest stories of this year’s ARTvision.

The tale begins with
AlexisCoram and her website, PhotographProse.com. I’ve been a contributor to this site for some time, most recently with “No Regrets from the Greener Sanctuary,” a poem I wrote set to Zed Boucher-Myers’ photo to commemorate Thom Anderson’s new counseling space.

The point of PhotographProse is to join writers and photographers in an online environment, to collaborate and tell stories and exchange creative ideas. Very much in line with the ARTvision philosophy.

Fast forward to this past September 11, when I loaded a photo entitled “
Pride” to my blog, shot on the streets of Provincetown, Mass., to accompany a blog post about the 10th anniversary of that horrific day. Unbeknownst to me, longtime ARTvision artist Brenda Knosher jumped on the site and wrote “’Tis of Thee” as a prose reflection of the image and day.

From that point, I got it in my nutty head to ask my mother,
Mary Pollock, to use her expert calligraphy in “typesetting” the poem on a piece of archival art/drawing paper. I found the perfect frame, too, at Binders and have since distressed the interior to match the color of the door.

The quad-collaboration was hence born, and so we’re offering “’
Tis of Thee,” to Positive Impact donors for $400. Thanks to Alexis, Brenda, my mother for contributing to this cool storyline. - WP
