"artists reaching through" ~ Benefiting Positive Impact

Paying It Backwards & Forwards... aka "Java Love"

While we’re in the midst of raising money for a great cause, I thought we might take a break on Christmas Eve and remember what we’re up to with this project... and how even the most negative of situations can be turned into something positive.

This struck me as relevant to what ARTvision is about, and particularly what we try to focus on as we close 2008.

Take a look at the below story, but make sure to read
Arthur Rosenfeld’s piece in the Huffington Post before you do. It’s a truly remarkable feat of seeing through and above a negative everyday situation for... a greater truth.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah. Happy

ARTvision Offers: "Awash" by Will Pollock

Awash” is part of a series entitled “The Orchid Forest,” which is a nod to the rustic, mysterious rainforest environs of Costa Rica.

I titled the piece “Awash” because the plant leaves are splashed with spectacular reds, pinks and greens - to the point where the photo appears to be color-managed (it’s not). Happy For more,
visit my artist page.

“The Orchid Forest” - including more close-up orchid compositions as well as a few other Costa Rica-related images - will be on display at
Radial Cafe next month. Watch my Web site for more on this show; 50% of after-cost proceeds for the Radial show will go to Positive Impact. Like all of our other artists, of course, 100% is donated to Positive Impact!

Take a look at the
“Awash” photo album, or go directly to purchase for $395.

(ATLANTA :: 18 Dec. 2008) As my high-tech partner in crime and best friend for nearly 15 years, Rob O’Connor joins ARTvision with “Little Boy Blue.” We offer this piece for $175.

While on vacation with the entire family in North Carolina, Rob captured this private moment of his nephew Stewart as he went off on his own to scope out the beach. Notice the long shadow of the afternoon and the crash of the waves in the distance.

More artists and their pieces coming soon!

ARTvision Offers: "Patience" by Will Pollock

While on a photography walk with Rob O'Connor in Provincetown this summer, I stumbled across this scene where a Golden Retriever was patiently awaiting his owner's return.

With the front door slightly ajar, the toy left alone at the dogs foot and an empty rocker next to him, the picture seems to epitomize patience. A quality that, let's face it, Triscuit could
learn a thing or two from. The reflection in the door window shows that life goes by while the pup calmly waits...

"
Patience," photo mounted on art canvas, is offered at $395 in a limited ARTvision run of 3. One has already been printed and the second two are available upon request. (see slideshow)

This piece will be on display on New Year's Eve, too. More to follow soon!

World AIDS Day: Making A 'Positive Impact' With Broad-based HIV Prevention And Counseling

(ATLANTA :: 1 Dec. 2008) - With the world's attention culminating again today, Dec. 1, each year we get a little closer to understanding how HIV and AIDS affects Atlanta, the country and the rest of the world.

On the 20th annual
World AIDS Day, I'm happy to announce the official launch of ARTvision's Web site... our third year of bringing together artists and buyers in the name of charity. We have a record number of donating artists this year and have already sold our first piece - with hopefully more to follow!

Positive Impact is our beneficiary. Get to know them... We embark on ARTvision's month-long fundraising drive for a reason - PI is in very real need of funds to sustain their HIV prevention programs and to help offset leasing costs and the economic downturn. A wide range of price points - from $25 to $800 - means you have lots of opportunities to help PI make a good chunk of change. (browse now)

So, an ARTvision purchase is a direct and unfettered statement of support for PI's broad-based prevention and treatment services, which are now coming from
a more macro perspective, expanded from a sex-behavior theory to a total lifestyle ideology.

ARTvision is the perfect chance to lock in a last-minute tax deduction, support a great organization and receive some snazzy artwork in the process.

Watch the site this week as we load more artists. Let's make some cash! -
