We whipped Stone Four Studios into great shape for ARTvision-7. HUGE, mad props to our hanging-party volunteers: Delia Cochran, Randy Chumbley, Kimber Herndon, Vicki Duke Proano, Jim Hayes and Michael Baker, among others. Our electricians, Ron Nelson and Mike Davis, put in major work to make the event happen, too. Have a look below at our photoshow as we got the studio ready for the big two-day event:
(ATLANTA - 27 Nov. 2012) There’s nobody better positioned than our resident Broadway Diva Julia Murney to give us a flavor of New York City life. Such is the case with her three pieces this year - capturing Manhattan in unusual states of being, all to raise funds for Positive Impact. (more) Here’s a round-up of her offerings:
“Rainy Day NYC” (Photography to gallery-framed metal plate). A rain soaked city through a pane-glass window. This will be Julia’s first mixed-media piece, and will be auctioned on eBay.
There’s a possibility of a fourth entry from Julia, too, so watch the website for updates. Julia’s pieces will be staggered throughout the month of December. Visit Julia’s website for more on what she’s up to. (more)
More than 15 artists have submitted pieces so far. Great thanks to all of you for donating your time and artistry for the 100% benefit of Positive Impact. Set to Sara Bareilles’ “Uncharted” through Animoto, here’s our promo video:

After the announcement of season seven for ARTvision Atlanta, "Uncharted: Travel to Enchanted Lands", fund-raising for Positive Impact officially starts after the Labor Day weekend. And we’re in need of re-signing existing sponsors, finding new companies and people, and finding a suitable gallery to house our even in early December.
In other words, we want you!
ARTvision presents a unique opportunity for an Atlanta-area gallery to give back to the community and allow some great works to be shown by national and international artists. From Zurich to California and New York to Denmark, we display works from all over the world that fit the year's theme. We want these pieces to shine in the best light possible. (read more)
ARTvision Atlanta - its artists, volunteers and beneficiary, Positive Impact - are proud to announce the theme for its seventh consecutive year of fund-raising and advocacy.
“This year you’ll see original works that challenge the consensus idea that travel is only a change of physical location,” says Will Pollock, ARTvision’s founding director and curator. “I am deeply proud of all that our artists have done, and will continue to do, when they accept this year’s theme as an artistic challenge.” (read the full press release)
Mark your calendar to join us for our preview event on Thursday, 6 December 2012 and our official ARTvision Atlanta gala on 7 December 2012 from 7-10 p.m.
